California Medi-Cal arthritis treatment protocols postponed indefinitely: CAN! advocates fought against arthritis treatment protocols which would have limited prescription access of California’s Medi-Cal arthritis patients.

Acupuncture shown to reduce arthritis pain: A new study funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has found  that acupuncture in conjunction with pain relievers reduces pain and improves movement among patients with osteoarthritis of the knee.  Patients in the study who received acupuncture in combination with pain relievers experienced a 40% reduction in pain and a 40% improvement in function by the end of the 26 week trial.
